Great-nephew Cyler will be 2 in early February, so on this Sunday, his Mom and Dad brought him to Des Moines and we went to the Botanical Center to see if we could get a good birthday photo.
In case you haven't been around a 2-year old recently, getting a 2-year old to sit still for 5 seconds, can be a real challenge and with my old knees, chasing around a 2-year old and trying to get good shots is a workout!
We did end up getting several good shots and all got a workout in the process. He saw "Nemo" in the water and got to see the latest addition to the Botanical Center, a little turtle, that we called "Crush" (Nemo is his favorite movie right now).
He loved watering the plants and carried the water buckets around until he'd emptied them. He didn't like it when he got water on his shoe and we had a few tears over his wet jeans and shoe. Like a two-year old, he was on to the next thing quickly and the wet shoe was merely a memory.
I love the sweet, innocent look in this pose. However the ones with him smiling and running definitely show his energy and enthusiasm. It is fun seeing the world through a 2 year-old's eyes!
