Playing with Cyler

It was just going to be another Friday night at our house and then we had the opportunity to have Cyler (one of our great-nephews, Stacy and Mark's son) spend the evening with us, so it ended up being a really exciting Friday night! 2 year olds keep things interesting! He's really into Nemo right now and we just happened to have Nemo on DVD, so we had to watch a little Nemo.

He was so cute -- he wanted to play with the toys, but he also wanted to watch the movie. He brought out the puzzles and the hotel doll house, but most of the time he was holding the toys and watching the movie.

During a scary part of the movie, Cyler would get this funny, scared look on his face and then he'd back away from the TV and go behind the recliner. He was so serious. It's hard to understand what it would feel like to be 2 and seeing something scary for the first time.

After Nemo, he picked out the Cars DVD. He continued playing with us and watching the movie. It was cute when he tried to repeat things he heard in the movie. He had this cute winter hat and I wanted to get a picture of him wearing it, but he didn't want to wear it, unless it was his idea and you can see what his idea was below.

Finally about 10:15, I started rocking him in the recliner and he twirled his fingers in his hair for just a few minutes and then he was off to sleep. He was so sweet and innocent asleep on my lap. Had to take advantage of that for about 30 minutes and then decided to get up and put away toys. It wasn't too much later and Stacy and Mark arrived to take Cyler home.

Good night!
